‘Clergy’s decision of pardoning Ram Rahim is painful’

“Though I am under hospitalisation at Mumbai, the decision of the so called Jathedars of letting Gurmeet Ram Rahim from the cardinal sin, have given me extreme shock and pain. At one stroke they have violated all the principles and age old traditions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib for serving their political masters. They have struck at the very roots of Sikh principles which govern the working of Akal Takht Sahib. The people who were designated to protect the Sikh identity, its basic postulates and who were supposed to safeguard the Panthic interests, they have struck deadly against it. I appeal to the Sikhs, world over, to rise above petty partisan political interest and raise their voice on this Gravois violations and act in unison for effective changes immediately so that no further damage is done.”

(Manjit Singh Calcutta, ex-Chief Secretary, SGPC)
