New Delhi: After the successful launch of most awaited Ciaz sedan & facelifted Swift, Maruti Suzuki is once again ready to unleash its magic by introducing Alto K10 in updated form on 3rd November, 2014. Maruti Suzuki has termed it as the next generation Alto K10. This version will not only get cosmetic updates but also changes under the hood. It will also become the cheapest small car in the country with AMT technology and the second to be launched after Celerio. The price of this forthcoming Alto K10 is believed to be in the range of Rs 3.2-3.8 lac. This new Alto K10 will be available in various trims such as LX, LXi, VXi and VXi (O) with 5-speed manual and two AMT models LXi and VXi. Moreover, introduction of AMT gearbox in smaller cars is believed to be a boon as it enhances the driving experience in the city traffic.
As far as the appearance and design is concerned, the next generation Alto K10 flaunts a fresher look as it has taken the cues from junior Alto 800. Stunning design and sumptuous appearance provides extraordinary character to this car. This modernized version of Alto K10 gets a chrome front grille along with enhanced modifications for head & tail lights, revamped bumpers, 13 inch wheels, latest ORVMs and bunch of additional changes, whereas the body shell of this next gen Alto K10 is estimated to be similar as that of Alto 800. Moreover, the cabin too gets updated as compared to older version. There will be new dashboard adorned in dual black and beige color scheme, upholstery and control buttons, new steering wheel for much better handling and lastly, new black colored music system.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the base model of Alto K10 Lxi is estimated to be available at a price tag of Rs 3.2 lac whereas the higher version VXi AMT is expected to be placed around Rs 3.5 lac. Furthermore, the price of the expected CNG version of Alto K10 would fall around Rs 3.8 lac.
The engine of this new Alto K10 is expected to get 1.0-litre three-cylinder K-Series motor which produces 77.1bhp of power and 90Nm of peak torque. The engine is accompanied by a five-speed manual transmission and AMT – Automated Manual Transmission that will come loaded in another variant. Talking about mileage and fuel efficiency, the automatic as well as manual versions of Alto K10 is expected to offer 24.7kmpl. However, the CNG variant is likely to provide mileage of 32.36 km/kg.
