CHANDIGARH: Taking a major student’s friendly step, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Arun Kumar Grover today launched the online system for submission of Examination Forms for the Post Graduate students of PU.
This facility will be available to all the Post Graduate Students at Campus, affiliated Colleges of PU at Chandigarh and Punjab, University School of Open Learning and Private, who would be appearing in December, 2013 examination under the Semester System. More than 35 thousand students would be benefited with this move. These students will have option of filing examination forms through the earlier system of submitting hard copy but from next examinations, it will be mandatory to file examination forms through online system only.
PU VC Prof. Grover asked the Director Computer Centre to set up a permanent Help Center at the Computer Centre for helping the students. Officials have been assigned duties to promptly resolve any kind of queries regarding the forms during the working hours.
Now, the PG students can file their examination forms by login at the http://pgexam.puchd.ac.in, where the students will be guided to submit the forms. The form will be submitted in two steps.
As part of first step the student would submit information like name, date of birth, email and select the candidate type, college, passing year, course, semester, University of the previous graduation class. The students would have the option of submitting mobile number on which they would like to receive text message notifications from http://pgexam.puchd.ac.in on the mobile number provided by them. The students would download the bank slip and deposit the fee in any branch of the State Bank of India. The students will have to not their application number, login ID, password/security code for further reference and follow up.
After 24 hours of depositing their application fees, the student would submit the details as the second step. The students would login, with the password and ID, fill the fee details like Journal Number, Branch Code, Date of Deposit, Security Code, Mobile No and Date of Registration.
The Controller of Examination Dr. Parvinder Singh said that the new initiative would benefit the students in a big way as they would get online Roll Numbers, information regarding Examination Centre and the result at the click of their computers. He disclosed that all the under graduate students of the PU and its 188 affiliated colleges and four constituent colleges would also be covered in the second phase of the implementation.
