SGPC chief seeks ban on movie by Gurmeet Ram Rahim

MSGAmritsar: After Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh and other Sikh organizations seeking ban on screening of film MSG, SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar too joined the bandwagon asking for ban on the movie showing the Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim in lead role. Dera chief is also producer of the film.

While appealing the central government to impose ban on release of the movie Makkar said the government would be responsible for any law and order problem that arose if it allowed the screening.

“It does not suit a ‘godman’ to act like a stunt professional and the Sikh sangat is against vulgarity. I fail to understand the message Ram Rahim wants to convey to the public. The state government should ban the screening as Sikhs are likely to oppose the film,” said Makkar.

It may be mentioned here that Gurmeet Ram Rahim is hated by Sikhs for his blasphemous act, as dressed like Guru Gobind Singh he tried to trivialize the practice of baptizing in 2007.
